Lighting Design Research

Choosing a system that can evenly illuminate a wide range of film stocks and that plays nicely with the imaging sensor can be a tricky endeavor. Thankfully, Kinograph is a community effort and we have lots of brain power to put to the task.

Inspired by a lively and productive, I asked forums member John Arthur Kelly to take a deep dive into lighting research in an effort to put some of our theories to the test.

He has compiled a thorough and practical guide to understanding the elements of a good lighting system, complete with tests and 3d printing files for your enjoyment.
